A little about me…

I’m a husband, father, entrepreneur, and former mayor of Kinston, North Carolina—serving for eight years as the youngest mayor in the city’s history. Leadership, communication, and community impact have shaped my life, from my early days in public service to my work now in business and media. For over a decade, I was a Business to Business (B2B) sales trainer, and today, I’m focused on growing Magic Mile Media, Neuse News and Neuse News Sports, platforms built from my experience in social media, storytelling, and leadership. My latest venture, simpleAIx, helps businesses integrate AI solutions to work smarter, not harder.

I often joke about being a “stuff shirt,” but these days, I’m getting more comfortable in hoodies and hats. My journey, like yours, has been filled with highs and lows—celebration and tragedy, victory and defeat, happiness and heartache. I believe that if you judge a person’s life by a single post or picture, you’re missing the full story. Fortunately, much of my career and all of my kids’ lives have been shared through social media, giving a more complete picture of who I am.

As mayor, I used social media to connect with citizens—through newsletters, videos, livestreams, images, and blogs—long before it was the norm. That experience shaped my passion for digital storytelling and now fuels my businesses. By following me on my podcast, social media, and blog, you’ll see that I’m ambitious yet humble, focused yet lighthearted, and above all—driven by passion.

Whether in business, public service, or everyday life, I care more about making an impact than making a fortune. I’m here to serve people and businesses, to share my experiences—both wins and losses—and to help you live a more abundant, fulfilling life.

Here’s to your success,
